Top Gun: Maverick (2022) follows the return of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise), a fearless Navy pilot, more than three decades after the events of the original Top Gun. Still pushing the limits as a test pilot and avoiding promotions that would ground him, Maverick is called back to the Top Gun Academy to train an elite group of young aviators for a perilous mission.
The mission requires navigating a treacherous canyon to destroy a rogue nation's underground uranium facility. Among the recruits is Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw (Miles Teller), the son of Maverick’s late best friend, Goose. Haunted by Goose's death, Maverick struggles to mentor Rooster while facing guilt over his own past actions and Rooster's resentment for having hindered his career.
