Inception is a mind-bending sci-fi thriller directed by Christopher Nolan that explores the nature of dreams and reality. The story follows Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a skilled thief who specializes in extracting secrets from people's subconscious minds through a shared dream technology.
This makes him a sought-after player in corporate espionage but has also cost him his family and his ability to return home.
Cobb is offered a chance at redemption by Saito (Ken Watanabe), a powerful businessman. Instead of stealing an idea, Cobb must perform “inception”—the planting of an idea in someone’s mind so deeply that it feels like their own.
The target is Robert Fischer (Cillian Murphy), the heir to a business empire, and the goal is to make him dissolve his father's company. If successful, Saito promises to clear Cobb’s criminal record and reunite him with his children.
Cobb assembles a skilled team, including dream architect Ariadne (Elliot Page), forger Eames (Tom Hardy), and chemist Yusuf (Dileep Rao).
Together, they navigate a series of layered dreams within dreams, each governed by its own rules of time and physics. As they delve deeper, Cobb’s unresolved guilt over his wife Mal (Marion Cotillard), who haunts his subconscious, threatens the mission and their lives.
