Prisoners is a gripping psychological thriller directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal. The story unfolds in a quiet Pennsylvania town where two young girls, Anna and Joy, suddenly go missing on Thanksgiving Day. Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman), the father of one of the missing girls, is devastated and desperate to find them. The police, led by Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal), arrest a mentally challenged young man, Alex Jones, who was seen near the scene in an RV, but due to lack of evidence, he is soon released.
Frustrated by the legal system and convinced of Alex’s guilt, Keller decides to take matters into his own hands. He kidnaps Alex and tortures him in an attempt to extract the truth. As Detective Loki digs deeper into the case, he uncovers a dark and twisted history of abductions, revealing that the real culprit may be someone no one suspected.
